About Melanie J. Nix

Melanie J. Nix has been a proud resident of Walhalla, South Carolina, for over 43 years. She is the owner of Massey Tax Service, where she has dedicated the past eleven years to serving her community, and co-owner of Massey Road Ready Academy, where she works as a certified SC State Driver Training Instructor.

Melanie is a Licensed SC DMV Driver Trainer Instructor (#A430-B) and operates a Licensed SC DMV Training School (#A430-BSO). She is also a Certified American Automobile Association (AAA) Instructor (2020). Her dedication to safety and education extends beyond the classroom, as she is committed to developing responsible, confident drivers across South Carolina.

She grew up in Walhalla and graduated from Walhalla High School in 1994. Melanie furthered her education at Tri-County Technical College, studying Criminal Justice, and completed additional studies through the South Carolina Department of Education in 1997.

Married for over 20 years, Melanie is a proud mother of six children-Jacob, Candace, Katelin, Justin, Josh, and Jake-and grandmother to 14 grandchildren.

About Rebecca L. Grubbs

Rebecca L. Grubbs is a dedicated educator, leader, and community advocate who has proudly called Westminster, South Carolina, home for over 23 years. As the owner of Massey Road Ready Academy, Rebecca is passionate about promoting safe driving practices and empowering individuals through education and training.

She is a Notary Public for the State of South Carolina, a Licensed SC DMV Driver Trainer Instructor (#A430-A), and operates a Licensed SC DMV Training School (#A430-ASO). Rebecca is also a Certified American Automobile Association (AAA) Instructor (2020) and a Certified Erskine College Instructor Trainer (2022).

Her dedication to safety and education extends beyond the classroom. Rebecca currently serves on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association (SCDTSEA), is an Ambassador for the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce, and a Regional DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) Judge. She is also a proud graduate of the Leadership Oconee Program (2023) and the Citizen Police Academy (2024).

In addition, Rebecca is Certified in Crisis Intervention reflecting her ongoing commitment to safety and community service.

Rebecca holds a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Anderson University, an Associate's Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Management from Tri-County Technical College, a Marketing & Advertising certificate from Fred P. Hamilton Career Center, and is a proud graduate of Walhalla High School.

Rebecca and her husband have been together for over 20 years and are proud parents of three children: Kayla (29), Haleigh (27), and Garrett (18), as well as grandparents to two grandchildren.

With a lifelong passion for education, leadership, and community engagement, Rebecca continues to serve as a role model and advocate for excellence in driver education and safety across South Carolina.
